How to Join
One of the ancient landmarks of Freemasonry is that we do not recruit new members. Men must come to the fraternity of their own free will and accord. For this reason, you will never be asked to join. To become a Mason, you must ask a Mason for a petition. "REQUIREMENTS" The requirements for membership are that a man must be at lease 18 years of age, have been a resident of Tennessee for at least one year, have a belief in a Supreme Being and the immortality of the soul, be capable of reading and writing and have the capacity to provide himself and family. In order for the petition to be received by the lodge the petition must be signed by two members who are in good standing in Shelbyville Benevole Lodge #122 of F&AM. The petition should also contain two references that may or may not be Masons. A multi-state background check is performed on all petitioners to Lodge #122.

BE OUR GUEST
Shelbyville Lodge conducts its stated business meeting on the first Monday of each month. You and your family are welcome to attend and join us from 6pm-7pm. It during this time we will be happy to answer any questions you may have about Freemasonry in general and Shelbyville Benevolent Lodge in particular. Do not worry if you don't know any of the members of the lodge. Many men have entered these doors and become a Mason without previously being acquainted with the other members.
