Your Masonic Journey Begins Here
It is one of Freemasons ancient customs and landmarks to never recruit new members into the fraternity. Men wishing to start their journey into this long distinguished group of Brethren, must come of their own free will and accord. For this specific reason, you will never be "asked" to join.

We have several meetings and events throughout the month at the Shelbyville Lodge. These will be posted on the website and on the billboard in front of the building at 877 Colloredo Blvd in Shelbyville, TN. We urge you to stop by during the first hour of these dates and times so any questions you may have can be answered.
Below are listed the requirements for membership as defined by The Grand Lodge of Tennessee:
-
You must be a man 18 years of age.
-
Be a resident of Tennessee for at least one year.
-
Have a belief in a Supreme Being and the immortality of the sole.
-
Be capable of reading and writing.
-
Have the capacity to provide for yourself and family.
-
In order for your petition to be received before the lodge it must be signed by two current Masons in good standing in Shelbyville Benevolent Lodge #122 F&AM (this will occur sometime after your initial visit to the lodge).
-
The petition should also contain two references that may or may not be Masons.
-
Once these prerequisites have been met, and your petition signed, a multi-state background check and personal investigation is performed on all potential candidates to Shelbyville Benevolent Lodge #122 F&AM.

*Remember:*
To become a Mason, you must ask a Mason for a petition to join the lodge. It's really just that simple, but that decision is one that must be yours.

BE OUR GUEST
LODGE OFFICERS
Shelbyville Lodge conducts its stated business meeting on the first Monday of each month. You and your family are welcome to attend and join us from 6pm-7pm. It during this time we will be happy to answer any questions you may have about Freemasonry in general and Shelbyville Benevolent Lodge in particular. Do not worry if you don't know any of the members of the lodge. Many men have entered these doors and become a Mason without previously being acquainted with the other members.
